Tragedy Strikes: 10 Lives Lost in Lightning Strikes in Odisha

The official reported that heavy rain and lightning strikes were seen in the coastal region of Odisha, including the twin towns of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

At least 10 people were killed in lightning strikes in Odisha due to heavy rainfall. The lightning strikes occurred in six districts, claiming four lives in Khurda district, two in Bolangir, and one each in Angul, Boudh, Jagatsinghpur, and Dhenkanal

According to the report, lightning strikes also injured three people in Khurda. 

.Bhubaneswar, September 2 (PTI) Six districts in Odisha saw severe rainfall on Saturday, and at least 10 people were killed by lightning strikes in those areas, according to an official.

According to the office of the special relief commissioner, lightning strikes claimed the lives of eight people: four in Khurda district, two in Bolangir, and one each in Angul, Boudh, Jagatsinghpur, and Dhenkanal.

SRC Odisha posted the following on X: "Today (02.09.2023), 10 people perished and 3 people were injured in 6 districts due to lightning. Angul 1, Bolangir 2, Boudh 1, Jagatsinghpur 1, Dhenkanal 1, and Khordha 4 (and 3 injured) are the casualties.
